Training Courses

From the 1st October 2009 the HSE has introduced new guidance for the provision of First Aid in the Workplace. ECS Rail Resources can provide these new courses to ensure your company is completely up to date.

We are unique in being able to offer training courses which are held pre engineering shift, typically between 7pm and 11pm, thus allowing night crew to work as normal.

We can provide the following training courses:

Course Title Details Duration
First Aid - Appointed Person The Emergency First Aid syllabus includes First Aid priorities, regulations, examining the casualty, basic life support, unconsciousness, control of bleeding, First Aid kits, recording and reporting.
Certification is dependent on the successful continuous assessment of the Candidate.
NO FORMAL FINAL EXAM IS GIVEN ON THIS COURSE.
This course can be completed in one pre-shift session which can be held, for example, between 7pm and 11pm.
First Aid - Full 4-Day Course A Full Health & Safety, HSE-Approved First Aid At Work course.
On successful completion, the holders can be assigned as First Aiders in the workplace in accordance with the Health & Safety At Work Act.
Candidates are independently examined on the final stages of the course.
This course can be held over 1, 2 or 3 weeks, depending on what suits your needs best. A 2 week course for example, would consist of 6 pre-shift instalments spread over a fortnight.
Basic Life Support (BLS) This course is suitable for all levels of Candidates, from novice to the fully qualified First Aider.
Resuscitation training is taken over the course along with theory and plenty of "hands on" training covering Theory Incident Management, CPR and the recovery position.
This course can be completed in one pre-shift session which can be held, for example, between 7pm and 11pm.
Automatic Emergency Defibrilator (AED) Comprehensive training covering the theory of the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) along with plenty of "hands on" practical training, thus allowing Candidates to be knowledgeable and feel confident. This course can be completed in one pre-shift session which can be held, for example, between 7pm and 11pm.
Combined Basic Life Support (BLS) & Automatic Emergency Defibrilator (AED) A cost effective solution to provide Candidates with two closley-linked life saving training modules. This course can be held over one entire night shift, running between 11pm and 5 am. This leaves your operatives in a position to work the following night shift.
RD4000 & Genny3
CAT (Cable Avoidance Tool) Scan
Covering the theory of radio waves and detection along with an introduction to the RD4000 and Genny3 Cable Avoidance Devices.
Includes practical demonstrations followed by hands-on usage by Candidates.
On successful completion a Certificate of Competence is issued.
This course can be completed in one pre-shift session which can be held, for example, between 7pm and 11pm.
Abrasive Wheels This course is structured to provide training in the safe usage of Abrasive Wheels, as per PUWER (Provision & Use Of Work Equipment Regulations).
Candidate receives certificate of attendance.
This course can be completed in one pre-shift session which can be held, for example, between 7pm and 11pm.
